Ingredients
- 2 lb (907 g) s chicken tendersthighs or breast
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
- 1 stick butter
- 8-10 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) parmesan grated
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) hot sauce more if desired
- 2 teaspoon (10 ml) s red pepper flakes
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) fresh parsley minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) dry ranch seasoning
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried dill
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) onion powder
- 5 tablespoon (23 ml) dry ranch seasoning
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried dill
- 2 teaspoon (10 ml) s paprika
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) pepper
Instructions
- Ensure your wooden skewers are submerged in water for a minimum of half an hour before starting.
- First, mix together the chicken seasoning blend in a small container and put it aside. Slice the chicken into 3-inch pieces and place them in a large bowl or a resealable plastic bag. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle the spices, making sure the chicken is thoroughly coated.
- Thread the chicken pieces tightly onto each skewer, leaving no gaps between them to maintain their moisture. If necessary, trim the top of the skewers to fit them into the air fryer once the chicken is secured.
- Combine butter and minced garlic in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat until the butter is partially melted, then mix in the red pepper flakes, hot sauce, seasonings, and grated parmesan. Whisk until the mixture is smooth. If the sauce separates, add a little softened butter and stir to blend it again.
- Take out one-third of the sauce for basting the partially cooked chicken, keeping the rest aside to baste later, ensuring no cross-contamination. Clean your basting brush between uses.
- Cook a few skewers at a time by placing them in an air fryer set to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. Turn the skewers over, brush with sauce, and cook for another 2 minutes at the same temperature.
- Turn them over once more, apply more sauce, and continue cooking for an additional 5-6 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. The total cooking time should be around 12-14 minutes, depending on your air fryer.
- Once done, give them a final coating with the reserved garlic sauce and sprinkle with extra parmesan before serving.
