Description
A flavorful grilled chicken marinated with lime, soy sauce, and garlic, capturing the essence of Vietnamese cuisine.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons neutral or vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken by trimming it if necessary. Place it in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine the lime juice, oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, red chili flakes, and cilantro to create the marinade.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off, then place it on the grill.
- Grill the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked and juices run clear.
- Once done, transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Longer marination enhances flavor. Use fresh herbs for best flavor.
