Description

A flavorful grilled chicken marinated with lime, soy sauce, and garlic, capturing the essence of Vietnamese cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons neutral or vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by trimming it if necessary. Place it in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the lime juice, oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, red chili flakes, and cilantro to create the marinade.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled.
  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off, then place it on the grill.
  6. Grill the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked and juices run clear.
  7. Once done, transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Longer marination enhances flavor. Use fresh herbs for best flavor.
