Description
A delicious and crispy chicken dish coated in a sweet and spicy Hawaiian sauce, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 3/4 cup corn starch
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup diced green onions
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
Instructions
- Heat about 3/4″ of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pan on medium heat.
- Drop the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the chicken using a slotted spoon and let it rest on paper towels for 1-2 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the oil for an extra 2-3 minutes if more crisp is desired.
- Mix all the ingredients for the Hawaiian sauce in a large bowl.
- Toss the cooked chicken in the Hawaiian sauce until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken to serve.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken before coating it. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
