Description
Delight in the tradition of making homemade Chinese dumplings, filled with vibrant flavors and perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 pound ground protein of your choice
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and water until a dough forms. Knead the dough until it’s smooth, then wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine the ground protein, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, ginger, salt, and pepper.
- Once the dough has rested, divide it into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
- Boil a pot of water. Add the dumplings and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the top.
- For added texture, consider pan-frying the dumplings for a crispy bottom.
- Serve with soy sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
Experiment with fillings like mushrooms, tofu, or mixed vegetables for vegetarian options.
