Description

Delight in the tradition of making homemade Chinese dumplings, filled with vibrant flavors and perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 pound ground protein of your choice
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and water until a dough forms. Knead the dough until it’s smooth, then wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine the ground protein, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, ginger, salt, and pepper.
  3. Once the dough has rested, divide it into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
  4. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
  5. Boil a pot of water. Add the dumplings and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the top.
  6. For added texture, consider pan-frying the dumplings for a crispy bottom.
  7. Serve with soy sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

Experiment with fillings like mushrooms, tofu, or mixed vegetables for vegetarian options.
