Description

Discover how to make delicious Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts with our easy step-by-step recipe. Perfectly tender and flavorful, it’s a must-try dish for any dinner!

Ingredients

  • 500g / 1 lb chicken breast, boneless and skinless (2 pieces)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) flour
  • 3 1/2 tbsp (50 g) unsalted butter (or 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp (23 ml) apple cider vinegar (or white or other clear vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) soy sauce, light or all purpose
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) honey (or maple syrup)

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts horizontally so you have four pieces in total. Season each piece with salt and pepper.
  2. Spread flour in a shallow bowl. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour, shaking off any extra.
  3. In a large pan, heat most of the butter on high, reserving about a teaspoon for later use.
  4. Place the chicken in the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until it turns golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for 1 minute.
  5. Lower the heat to medium-high.
  6. Move the chicken slightly to make space, then add the garlic and the reserved butter to the pan. Stir the garlic briefly after the butter melts.
  7. Pour in the vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Stir or shake the pan to mix the ingredients. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about a minute until it thickens slightly.
  8. Turn the chicken pieces in the sauce to coat them. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a small amount of water and stir.
  9. Take the pan off the heat immediately. Serve the chicken on plates and pour the remaining sauce over the top.
