Ingredients

  • 1 large white onion, chopped
  • 120 ml (1/2 cup) honey
  • 120 ml (1/2 cup) brown sugar
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) soy sauce
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) mustard powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons (8 ml) garlic, minced
  • 27 kg (5 pounds) chicken wings


Instructions

  1. Place the chopped onion, honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, vegetable oil, mustard powder, and minced garlic in a saucepan over medium heat; stir and warm the mixture for roughly 5 minutes.
  2. Spread the chicken wings evenly in a shallow baking dish; drizzle the prepared sauce over them and mix until well coated. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
  3. Set your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) to preheat.
  4. Bake the wings in the heated oven, turning them occasionally, for around 90 minutes, until they are no longer pink near the bone and the juices run clear. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the temperature near the bone is 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
