Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks (900g)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (60ml)
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) wholegrain mustard
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) honey
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) crushed garlic
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) sesame seeds
  • 4 baked potatoes
  • Butter & sour cream
  • Coleslaw


Instructions

  1. Combine the soy sauce, wholegrain mustard, honey, crushed garlic, and sweet chili sauce in a large container.
  2. Submerge the drumsticks in the mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes. For enhanced taste and convenience, leave them to marinate overnight.
  3. When you’re set to cook, set the oven to 200°C with the fan setting.
  4. Arrange the drumsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment and roast for half an hour.
  5. Apply any leftover sauce from the baking sheet onto the drumsticks and scatter the sesame seeds on top. Continue baking for another 5 minutes until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and has a golden hue.
  6. Present the dish with coleslaw and warm baked potatoes, topped with butter and sour cream.
