Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 sandwich buns
- Lettuce or pickles (for topping)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least an hour, or overnight.
- Mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in the seasoned flour.
- Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes per side.
- Melt butter in a small pot, stir in honey and hot sauce, and let simmer gently.
- Toss the cooked chicken in the hot honey butter.
- Assemble the sandwich with toasted buns, chicken, and toppings.
