- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons chili flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 200g plain flour
- 100g corn flour
- 2 eggs
- 200ml milk
- 200g honey
- 50g any hot sauce
- 50g unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons chili flakes
- Vegetable oil, to fry the chicken
- 4 burger buns
- Spicy mayo or any preferred sauce
- Some lettuce
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: Mix olive oil, lemon juice, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cayenne pepper, chili flakes, black pepper, and garam masala in a bowl. Coat the chicken and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Prepare the Flour Mixture: In a shallow dish, mix plain flour, corn flour, salt, ground cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Make the Wet Batter: In a separate dish, whisk together eggs and milk until smooth.
- Coat the Chicken: Dip each piece of marinated chicken first in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat it again in the flour mixture.
- Fry the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Fry each chicken piece for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Hot Honey: In a pan, melt unsalted butter and mix with honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes. Stir until combined and warmed through.
- Assemble the Burgers: Place fried chicken on toasted buns, drizzle with hot honey mixture, and add spicy mayo and lettuce.
Notes
Ensure the chicken is pounded to an even thickness for uniform cooking. Fry in batches to maintain oil temperature.
