Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey (60 ml)
  • 1 tsp to 1 Tbsp hot sauce (5 to 15 ml)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (2.5 ml)
  • 1/2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (225 g)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (2.5 ml)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (2.5 ml)
  • 1/8 tsp salt (0.5 ml)
  • 1/8 tsp pepper (0.5 ml)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil (15 ml)
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese (40 g)

Instructions

  1. Set your broiler to preheat. In a small pot, blend honey, hot sauce, and crushed red pepper, and warm over medium heat for 5 minutes, then allow it to cool.
  2. Flatten the chicken to an even thickness between sheets of plastic wrap using a meat mallet. Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Heat oil in a cast-iron or oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  3. Place the cheese on top of the chicken and move the skillet to the oven. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is slightly browned. Pour the warm honey mixture over the chicken.

Notes

  • Season the chicken generously with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper for enhanced flavor.
  • Flatten the chicken evenly using a meat mallet to ensure even cooking.
  • Monitor the chicken closely under the broiler to achieve a lightly browned cheese topping without burning.
