Description
A sweet and savory dish featuring tender chicken thighs cooked in a luscious honey garlic sauce, all made effortlessly in an Instant Pot.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. (750g) chicken thighs (4 chicken thighs)
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons water (or chicken broth)
- 3 dashes cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, then set them aside.
- Mix honey, sugar, soy sauce, water, and cayenne pepper together in a bowl. Stir until fully combined and set aside.
- Turn the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Once heated, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
- Add the chicken thighs to the pot, skin side down first, and sear until both sides are browned.
- Remove the chicken thighs, add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of oil. Then add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce into the pot and place the chicken thighs back inside.
- Close the lid and set to Manual High Pressure for 10 minutes.
- When finished, perform a Quick Release. Carefully remove the lid, add chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, remove the chicken after cooking and use the sauté function to reduce the sauce further.
