Description

A sweet and savory dish featuring tender chicken thighs cooked in a luscious honey garlic sauce, all made effortlessly in an Instant Pot.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. (750g) chicken thighs (4 chicken thighs)
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons water (or chicken broth)
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, then set them aside.
  2. Mix honey, sugar, soy sauce, water, and cayenne pepper together in a bowl. Stir until fully combined and set aside.
  3. Turn the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Once heated, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
  4. Add the chicken thighs to the pot, skin side down first, and sear until both sides are browned.
  5. Remove the chicken thighs, add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of oil. Then add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  6. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the pot and place the chicken thighs back inside.
  7. Close the lid and set to Manual High Pressure for 10 minutes.
  8. When finished, perform a Quick Release. Carefully remove the lid, add chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, remove the chicken after cooking and use the sauté function to reduce the sauce further.
