Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded Irish cheddar cheese
- 4 slices crispy bacon
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 4 burger buns (preferably toasted)
Instructions
- Prepare the burger patties by gently breaking apart the ground beef and mixing it without overworking.
- Divide the beef into four equal portions and shape each into thick patties, making an indentation in the center to ensure even cooking.
- Season the patties with Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt. Allow them to rest for about 10 minutes, ensuring the flavors meld.
- Cook the patties on a grill or skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Irish cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Add crispy bacon and caramelized onions, then top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
Use a digital meat thermometer for accurate cooking. Aim for an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for medium burgers.
