Description

Experience the vibrant essence of Jamaican cuisine with these aromatic, spicy chicken wings marinated in rich spices, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 14 chicken wings
  • 1 cup green onions (chopped)
  • 1 cup red onions (chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1-inch ginger root (skin removed)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2-3 habanero peppers (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients (except chicken wings) in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the marinade over the chicken wings in a large bowl, ensuring each wing is well-coated.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 120-240 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Arrange the marinated chicken wings on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes, checking for a golden-brown and crispy exterior.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the wings for a few minutes after baking. Adjust the number of habaneros to preference for spice level.
