Description

These jerk chicken wings are a crowd-pleaser that combines spicy jerk seasoning with buttery garlic sauce, creating a flavorful snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb party chicken wing dings, disjointed with tips removed
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8-9 tsp jerk seasoning, to taste
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Cooking spray
  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp tamari
  • 1/4 tsp gluten-free hot sauce
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger or fresh grated ginger, if desired
  • 1/8 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, pat dry the chicken wings using a paper towel. Season them generously with salt and pepper, jerk seasoning, and baking powder. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated in the seasoning.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Spray the frying basket with cooking oil to prevent any sticking before placing the wings inside. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  3. Cook the wings for 15-17 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crispiness.
  4. While the chicken cooks, melt the butter in a pot over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Stir in honey, tamari, hot sauce, ginger, and smoked paprika. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Once the chicken wings are ready and crispy, add them to the sauce, making sure each wing is coated evenly. Alternatively, brush the sauce onto the wings and place them back into the air fryer for an additional 8 minutes.

Notes

For enhanced flavors, consider marinating the wings for a few hours or overnight. Adjust the jerk seasoning to taste if you prefer milder wings.
