Delicious air-fried Kalbi chicken legs marinated in a sweet and savory Korean-style barbecue sauce, ensuring tenderness and crispiness.
Ingredients
- 6 chicken quarters
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 inches ginger, minced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 stalks green onion, chopped
- 1/2 apple, juiced
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp sweetener (sugar)
- 1 tsp pepper
- Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the marinade by mixing kalbi marinade, soy sauce, mirin, minced ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sweetener, and pepper in a bowl.
- Juice the apple and add it to the marinade.
- Place the chicken quarters in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated, and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
- Arrange the chicken quarters in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them.
- Air fry the chicken for about 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove the chicken once it reaches a crispy golden brown and has an internal temperature of at least 165°F.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
Notes
For richer flavor, marinate overnight. Can finish on a grill for added smoked taste.
