Description

Delicious air-fried Kalbi chicken legs marinated in a sweet and savory Korean-style barbecue sauce, ensuring tenderness and crispiness.

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken quarters
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 2 inches ginger, minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 apple, juiced
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sweetener (sugar)
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing kalbi marinade, soy sauce, mirin, minced ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sweetener, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Juice the apple and add it to the marinade.
  3. Place the chicken quarters in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated, and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
  5. Arrange the chicken quarters in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  6. Air fry the chicken for about 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Remove the chicken once it reaches a crispy golden brown and has an internal temperature of at least 165°F.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

Notes

For richer flavor, marinate overnight. Can finish on a grill for added smoked taste.
