Description
Succulent Kalbi chicken legs marinated in a rich, savory mixture and perfectly air fried for a crispy texture.
Ingredients
- 6 chicken quarters
- Kalbi marinade
- ½ apple
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup mirin
- 2 inches of ginger
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 stalks of green onion
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp sweetener (sugar)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the marinade by combining the Kalbi marinade, soy sauce, mirin, ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onion, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sweetener, and pepper in a bowl. Stir well to blend all flavors.
- Cut the apple into small pieces and add it to the marinade.
- Place the chicken quarters in a large bowl or ziplock bag, and pour the prepared marinade over them. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least one hour, or preferably overnight.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and allow any excess to drip off. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry the chicken for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Marinating overnight enhances the flavors even further. Experiment with different marinades for unique twists.
