Description

Succulent Kalbi chicken legs marinated in a rich, savory mixture and perfectly air fried for a crispy texture.

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken quarters
  • Kalbi marinade
  • ½ apple
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • 2 inches of ginger
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 stalks of green onion
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sweetener (sugar)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by combining the Kalbi marinade, soy sauce, mirin, ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onion, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sweetener, and pepper in a bowl. Stir well to blend all flavors.
  2. Cut the apple into small pieces and add it to the marinade.
  3. Place the chicken quarters in a large bowl or ziplock bag, and pour the prepared marinade over them. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least one hour, or preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade and allow any excess to drip off. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry the chicken for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Marinating overnight enhances the flavors even further. Experiment with different marinades for unique twists.
