Description

Learn how to make a delicious Lemon Garlic Shrimp Skillet in this easy recipe. Perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • – 1 pound (450 g) medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • – 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • – Kosher salt and ground pepper, to taste
  • – 1 1/2 tablespoons (22.5 ml) vegetable oil
  • – 1 lemon, thinly sliced, plus juice of 1 lemon
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) white vinegar
  • – 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) water or broth
  • – Freshly chopped curly parsley, for garnish
  • – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) crushed red pepper flakes, or to your taste

Instructions

  1. Take the peeled and deveined shrimp and place them into a bowl. Add a sprinkle of kosher salt and ground pepper, then mix in the minced garlic. Allow the mixture to rest in the fridge for half an hour.
  2. Warm vegetable oil in a skillet set to medium-high heat. Introduce the shrimp to the pan and stir often until they begin to curl, taking about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Pour in the fresh lemon juice, add the lemon slices, incorporate the white vinegar, and splash in some water or broth. Let the mixture gently bubble for another 2 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked and opaque.
  4. Take the skillet off the stove, and move the shrimp to a serving plate.
  5. Finish by sprinkling freshly chopped parsley and crushed red pepper flakes on top.

Notes

  • Marinate the shrimp in garlic, salt, and pepper to boost the flavor.
  • Lemon slices, juice, and white vinegar create a zesty sauce for the shrimp.
  • Adjust the crushed red pepper flakes to your desired level of spiciness.
