Description

A comforting chicken casserole that combines shredded chicken, creamy soup, and crispy crackers for a delightful family meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup crushed buttery crackers
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, and half of the cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour the chicken mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the crushed crackers with melted butter and the remaining cheddar cheese, then spread it evenly over the chicken mixture.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  6. Let cool slightly, garnish with green onions if desired, and serve warm.
