Description
A comforting dish combining layers of pasta, robust meat sauce, creamy Alfredo, and gooey mozzarella cheese that transforms dinner into a memorable occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground hamburger meat
- 16 oz spaghetti noodles
- 24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce
- ½ chopped onion or 1-2 tbsp minced onion
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper
- 1 stick butter
- 16 oz heavy whipping cream
- 1½ cups shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Boil a pot of water for the spaghetti noodles and cook them according to the package directions.
- While waiting for the water to boil, prepare the meat sauce by combining chopped onion, ground hamburger meat, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning in a medium pan over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink; then drain the grease.
- Add your spaghetti sauce to the cooked meat along with additional garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning to taste. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally.
- Melt one stick of butter in another pan. Once melted, add in the heavy whipping cream and stir.
- Mix in the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and about ½ to 1 tsp garlic powder. Stir until the cheese melts and thickens over medium-low heat.
- Pour the Alfredo sauce into your baking dish, mixing it with the drained noodles until well coated.
- Spread the meat sauce evenly on top of the Alfredo noodles without mixing.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Let the dish sit for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Allow flavors to meld by letting the dish rest after baking. Consider adding sautéed vegetables for extra flavor.
