Description

A flavor-packed chicken dish topped with crispy bacon, savory barbecue sauce, and gooey Monterey Jack cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese (shredded)
  • 4 strips Bacon (cooked and chopped)
  • ½ cup Barbecue sauce
  • 2 Green onions (chopped for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the seasoned chicken for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish and top each breast with barbecue sauce, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, and chopped bacon slices.
  5. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Consider brining the chicken breasts for added moisture and flavor. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked through.
