Description

A comforting pot of old-fashioned chili, perfect for cozy family nights and gatherings, with rich flavors and hearty ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, cooking for another minute.
  4. Add the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce to the pot. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot, topped with sour cream, cheese, or green onions if desired.

Notes

Let the chili simmer for a richer flavor. You can adjust the spices to your heat preference.
