Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped green onions
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, cooking for another minute.
- Add the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce to the pot. Stir well.
- Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot, topped with sour cream, cheese, or green onions if desired.
