A healthy and delicious alternative to traditional fried chicken, this oven-fried chicken boasts a crispy coating and juicy meat, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 8 pc whole cut chicken, skin on
- 6 Tbs butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- 1 1/3 cup flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 Tbs seasoning salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Add your butter to a large baking dish and place it in the oven to melt.
- Whisk together your eggs, milk, and hot sauce in a large bowl, then set aside.
- Whisk together your flour and seasonings in another bowl until combined.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven once the butter is melted.
- Dip your chicken pieces in flour, then in the egg mixture, and back into the flour again. Once coated, place them skin side down in your baking dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken over and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let drain slightly on paper towels.
- If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, let the chicken sit after coating for 15 minutes before baking.
