Description

A healthy and delicious alternative to traditional fried chicken, this oven-fried chicken boasts a crispy coating and juicy meat, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 pc whole cut chicken, skin on
  • 6 Tbs butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbs seasoning salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Add your butter to a large baking dish and place it in the oven to melt.
  3. Whisk together your eggs, milk, and hot sauce in a large bowl, then set aside.
  4. Whisk together your flour and seasonings in another bowl until combined.
  5. Remove the baking dish from the oven once the butter is melted.
  6. Dip your chicken pieces in flour, then in the egg mixture, and back into the flour again. Once coated, place them skin side down in your baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken over and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let drain slightly on paper towels.
  9. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the chicken sit after coating for 15 minutes before baking.
