A delightful dish featuring chicken breasts coated in a flavorful mixture of Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs, perfect for any weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off.
- Coat the chicken with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure it sticks.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the coated chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing in Italian herbs with the breadcrumbs. To achieve a thicker crust, double dip the chicken before the final coating.
