Description

Delightful chicken wings marinated in a sweet and spicy pineapple and jalapeño blend, baked to crispy perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and black pepper. Whisk until the brown sugar dissolves.
  4. Pour the marinade over the chicken wings and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  6. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack with olive oil.
  7. Remove the wings from the marinade and place them in a single layer on the wire rack, reserving the marinade.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, brushing halfway with reserved marinade.
  9. If desired, switch to broil for the last 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
  10. Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving warm, garnished with chopped jalapeños if desired.

Notes

For optimal flavor, marinate the wings overnight. Use a wire rack for even cooking and crispiness.
