A simple and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a creamy ranch sauce in a crock pot.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional for searing)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- If chosen, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- In your crock pot, add cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir well to combine into a rich sauce.
- Place the chicken breasts into the crock pot and coat them completely with the sauce mixture.
- Cover and set the crock pot to cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until cooked through.
- Once ready, shred the chicken using two forks and mix it back into the creamy sauce.
- For added richness, stir in sour cream and garnish with shredded cheese and fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For best results, ensure chicken breasts are not overly thick and use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
