Description

A comforting dish featuring tender chicken thighs and drumsticks braised in a creamy sauce with crispy bacon and shallots.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 shallots, sliced
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the grease in the pot.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper, and brown in the same pot for about 5 minutes on each side. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Add shallots to the pot and sauté until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly.
  5. Return chicken and bacon to the pot, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
