A comforting dish featuring tender chicken thighs and drumsticks braised in a creamy sauce with crispy bacon and shallots.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 4 chicken drumsticks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 shallots, sliced
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the grease in the pot.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper, and brown in the same pot for about 5 minutes on each side. Remove chicken and set aside.
- Add shallots to the pot and sauté until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly.
- Return chicken and bacon to the pot, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in heavy cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
