Description

A comforting and hearty dinner featuring tender shredded chicken bathed in creamy gravy, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken breasts
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until soft and aromatic.
  3. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook until golden brown on both sides (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for approximately 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken and shred it with two forks.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix heavy cream and flour until smooth. Stir this mixture into the skillet and allow to thicken.
  6. Return shredded chicken to the skillet, combine thoroughly, and season with salt and pepper before serving hot.

Notes

For a lighter gravy, add more chicken broth. For extra flavor, consider incorporating herbs or spices such as paprika or dried thyme.
