Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken breasts
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until soft and aromatic.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook until golden brown on both sides (about 5-7 minutes).
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for approximately 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken and shred it with two forks.
- In a separate bowl, mix heavy cream and flour until smooth. Stir this mixture into the skillet and allow to thicken.
- Return shredded chicken to the skillet, combine thoroughly, and season with salt and pepper before serving hot.
Notes
For a lighter gravy, add more chicken broth. For extra flavor, consider incorporating herbs or spices such as paprika or dried thyme.
