Description

Learn how to make a mouthwatering oven-baked honey mustard chicken delight with this simple recipe. Perfect for a delicious and easy weeknight meal!

Ingredients

  • – 4 chicken breasts, boneless skinless (about 680g)
  • – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 ml)
  • – Salt & pepper, to taste
  • – 1/4 cup honey (60 ml)
  • – 1/4 cup beef mustard (60 ml)
  • – 1/2 cup chicken broth (120 ml)
  • – 1 tablespoon cornstarch (15 g)
  • – Chopped parsley, optional, to taste

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 400°F and position the rack in the upper third portion.
  2. Arrange the chicken pieces side-by-side in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Dust them with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, cook the chicken for 10 minutes without a cover.
  4. In the meantime, combine the honey, beef mustard, chicken broth, and cornstarch in a bowl by whisking them together.
  5. Remove the chicken from the oven and pour the prepared sauce over it.
  6. Place it back in the oven and continue baking, uncovered, for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Take the chicken out and drizzle the sauce over it. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Notes

  • Marinate chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper for richer flavor before baking.
  • Adjust sauce sweetness and tanginess by adding more honey or mustard to taste.
  • Make extra sauce to use as glaze for vegetables or meats; simmer to thicken if desired.
