Description
Crispy chicken wings coated in a delicious soy garlic sauce, perfect for family gatherings and parties.
Ingredients
- 7 whole chicken wings (cut into drumettes and flats)
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup light soy sauce
- 4 tbsp honey
- 3 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1.5 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp garlic (minced)
- 3 tbsp potato starch
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) or your oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Pat the chicken wings dry and place them in a large bowl.
- Combine the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; sprinkle this mixture evenly over the wings. Toss to coat thoroughly.
- If using potato starch, sprinkle it over the seasoned wings and mix well.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket or on the prepared baking tray.
- Air fry the wings for about 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through. For oven-baked wings, cook for 40-45 minutes, flipping once.
- While the wings cook, prepare the soy garlic sauce: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the soy sauce, honey, sugar, and rice vinegar. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Once the wings are done, toss them in the soy garlic sauce until coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For extra crispy wings, consider marinating them in the soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes to an hour before coating them. Serve with the extra sauce on the side for dipping.
