Ingredients
- 6 pieces Boneless Chicken Thigh (750g) cut into bite-size pieces
- 1/3 cup Rice Flour (40g)
- 1/4 cup Corn Starch (30g)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Garlic Powder
- Salt and Pepper to season
- 1/3 cup Soda Water (80ml)
- 1 Egg
- 8 cloves Garlic Chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) Korean Chilli Paste
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) honey
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then coat them with corn starch and rice flour. Mix in the egg and soda water, then let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Cook the chicken in hot oil on medium-high until it turns golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. For extra crunchiness, fry again for an additional 1-2 minutes after removing from the pan.
- In another pan, combine the Korean chili paste, honey, soy sauce, and chopped garlic.
- Raise the heat to medium-low and stir until the mixture is well-blended.
- Toss the cooked chicken in the sauce, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken. Stir-fry on high heat for 1 minute.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onion.
Notes
- For an extra crispy texture, fry the coated chicken pieces twice as instructed.
- Adjust the amount of Korean chili paste to your desired level of spiciness.
- Resting the chicken after coating with egg and soda water helps the coating adhere better. Add bell peppers or broccoli for extra texture and flavor.
