Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 g) black pepper
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon (10 g) sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 tablespoons (8 g) chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken wings with vegetable oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
- Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- While the wings bake, prepare the sauce in a small saucepan.
- Combine honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, ground ginger, and lime juice over medium heat.
- Stir the sauce mixture until it begins to simmer and thickens slightly.
- Once the wings are baked, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl.
- Pour the spicy honey Sriracha sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
- Return the coated wings to the wire rack on the baking sheet.
- Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce is caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and transfer the wings to a serving platter.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped fresh cilantro, if desired.
- Serve hot.
