  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 g) black pepper
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon (10 g) sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons (8 g) chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
  3. In a large bowl, combine chicken wings with vegetable oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  5. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
  6. Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. While the wings bake, prepare the sauce in a small saucepan.
  8. Combine honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, ground ginger, and lime juice over medium heat.
  9. Stir the sauce mixture until it begins to simmer and thickens slightly.
  10. Once the wings are baked, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl.
  11. Pour the spicy honey Sriracha sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  12. Return the coated wings to the wire rack on the baking sheet.
  13. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce is caramelized.
  14. Remove from the oven and transfer the wings to a serving platter.
  15. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped fresh cilantro, if desired.
  16. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, increase the amount of chili sauce in the sauce mixture.
  • Marinate the chicken wings in the seasoning mixture for at least 30 minutes before baking to enhance the taste.
  • Add a pinch of ground ginger to the seasoning mixture for a more aromatic touch before coating the wings.
