Description

Delicious and flavorful turkey burgers with a kick, perfect for summer grilling and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup sliced avocado
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, finely chopped red onion, and olive oil.
  2. Add the chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. Crack the large egg into the mixture, and mix thoroughly using your hands or a spoon.
  4. Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties.
  5. Place the patties on the preheated grill or grill pan.
  6. Cook the patties for approximately 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. While the burgers are grilling, toast the hamburger buns for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
  8. Once cooked, spread salsa on the bottom half of each bun, top with a turkey patty, sliced avocado, and chopped cilantro, then cap with the top half of the bun.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

Customize spice levels and toppings to your preference. Consider marinating the turkey for extra flavor.
