Ingredients

  • – 1 pound (454 g) boneless chicken thighs
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
  • – salt and pepper to taste
  • – ½ cup (120 ml) brown sugar
  • – 1/3 cup (80 ml) soy sauce
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) hoisin sauce
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sweet chili sauce
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) freshly grated ginger
  • – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) minced garlic
  • – juice of one lime
  • – dried red pepper flakes to taste


Instructions

  1. Warm 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the boneless chicken thighs as desired, then place them in the pan.
  2. Sauté the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Once cooked, set the chicken aside.
  3. In the same pan, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet chili sauce, freshly grated ginger, minced garlic, lime juice, and dried red pepper flakes to your liking. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat.
  4. Return the chicken to the pan, ensuring each side is well-coated with the glaze. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce until it becomes thick.
  5. Take the pan off the heat and sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top before serving.
