Description

Learn how to make delicious Sticky Honey Chicken with this easy recipe. Discover the secret to tender chicken coated in a sticky, sweet glaze. Perfect for a tasty dinner!

Ingredients

  • – 1 ½ pounds (680 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt and black pepper each
  • – 3 tablespoons (45 ml) cornstarch
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil or as needed
  • – green onions thinly sliced for garnish
  • – â…“ cup (80 ml) honey
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) beef broth or water
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
  • – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) grated fresh ginger
  • – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) cornstarch
  • – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sriracha or to taste
  • – 3 cloves garlic minced

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel and slice it into small, bite-sized chunks. Put these pieces into a medium bowl and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add cornstarch and mix until the chicken is well-coated.
  2. In a separate small bowl, thoroughly mix together honey, beef broth, soy sauce, ginger, cornstarch, sriracha, and minced garlic until they form a smooth mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken in batches until it is no longer pink, taking about 5-6 minutes per batch. Move the cooked pieces to a separate dish to keep them warm.
  4. Stir the sauce ingredients once more to ensure the cornstarch is evenly distributed, then pour into the same frying pan. Allow it to come to a light boil over medium heat, stirring continuously, and let it bubble for 1 minute.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, stirring until every piece is coated with the sauce. Finish by scattering sliced green onions over the dish before serving.

Notes

  • Consider using low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier option.
  • Adjust sriracha to your preferred spice level gradually.
  • Marinate chicken in sauce for 30 minutes for enhanced flavor.
