Description

A comforting and hearty dish featuring jumbo pasta shells filled with a savory meat and cheese mixture, topped with marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set them aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat from the pan.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
  5. Fill each cooked shell with the meat and cheese mixture, taking care not to overfill.
  6. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  7. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and cover them with the remaining marinara sauce.
  8. If desired, sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese on top for extra cheesiness.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes to develop the flavors.
  10. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let the dish cool slightly before serving to allow the flavors to settle.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating sautéed vegetables into the filling, or using freshly grated cheese for a richer taste.
