Description

A quick and easy sweet and sour chicken recipe that balances savory and sweet flavors, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup sweet and sour sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Dredge chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs.
  3. Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  5. Sauté bell pepper and onion in the same pan until tender.
  6. Add sweet and sour sauce and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return the chicken to the pan, coating it in the sauce.
  8. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

Ensure the oil is at the right temperature before frying and do not overcrowd the pan.
