Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tbsp (23 ml) olive or avocado oil
  • 1 1/2 lb (680 g) s chicken breasts, skinless, boneless, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
  • 6 tbsp (90 ml) coconut aminos
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) honey
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) sriracha
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml) crushed red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. Drizzle oil into a frying pan and warm it over medium-high heat. Once the oil is heated, place the chicken pieces in the pan. Sprinkle with chili powder, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes without covering and turn occasionally. The chicken should develop a brown exterior and be nearly done when finished.
  2. While the chicken is cooking, combine coconut aminos, honey, sriracha, minced garlic, and crushed red pepper flakes in a medium-sized bowl. Taste the mixture. If you prefer it spicier, add another teaspoon of sriracha (I always do!).
  3. Pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the chicken. (The sauce will be thin initially.) Allow everything to simmer over medium-high heat for 4 to 5 minutes until the sauce becomes thick and the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
