Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tbsp (23 ml) olive or avocado oil
- 1 1/2 lb (680 g) s chicken breasts, skinless, boneless, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) chili powder
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
- 6 tbsp (90 ml) coconut aminos
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) honey
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) sriracha
- 1 tsp (5 ml) garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Drizzle oil into a frying pan and warm it over medium-high heat. Once the oil is heated, place the chicken pieces in the pan. Sprinkle with chili powder, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes without covering and turn occasionally. The chicken should develop a brown exterior and be nearly done when finished.
- While the chicken is cooking, combine coconut aminos, honey, sriracha, minced garlic, and crushed red pepper flakes in a medium-sized bowl. Taste the mixture. If you prefer it spicier, add another teaspoon of sriracha (I always do!).
- Pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the chicken. (The sauce will be thin initially.) Allow everything to simmer over medium-high heat for 4 to 5 minutes until the sauce becomes thick and the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
