Delicious chicken drumsticks glazed with a savory-sweet soy sauce mixture, perfect for family gatherings and weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- ½ cup soy sauce (regular or low-sodium)
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1–2 tsp sriracha or chili paste (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional)
- Sesame seeds & sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry using paper towels.
- Lightly season the chicken with salt, if desired.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger (if using), black pepper, and sriracha (if desired).
- Add the drumsticks to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Marinate for 20 minutes or refrigerate for up to 4 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C).
- Arrange the drumsticks on a foil-lined baking sheet or in a baking dish.
- Reserve any leftover marinade for later use.
- Bake for 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
- While baking, heat the reserved marinade in a small pot and bring it to a boil for 1-2 minutes.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, mix cornstarch with water and add it to the boiling marinade, simmering until glossy.
- Brush the glaze over the drumsticks during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking.
- For extra caramelization, broil for 1-2 minutes.
- Brush with any remaining glaze before serving.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Consider using an instant-read thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption. Vary marinating time for enhanced flavor.
