Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup white sugar
- 0.25 cup pineapple juice
- 0.25 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 3 pounds chicken wings or drumettes
Instructions
- Whisk water, soy sauce, sugar, pineapple juice, vegetable oil, garlic, and ginger together in a large glass or ceramic bowl until the sugar dissolves.
- Add chicken wings and toss to evenly coat.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease baking dishes, setting them aside.
- Remove chicken wings from the marinade, shake off excess, and place them into prepared baking dishes. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Bake wings in the preheated oven until cooked through and glazed evenly, about 1 hour. Ensure internal temperature reads at least 165°F (74°C).
Notes
For extra crispiness, broil the wings for a few minutes at the end of baking. Consider doubling the marinade for larger gatherings.
