  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

  • 1 tablespoon water (optional for cornstarch mixture)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. If you want a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch and water in a separate bowl, then stir it into the sauce.
  4. Bring the sauce to a gentle boil and cook for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a deeper flavor, marinate chicken or vegetables in the sauce for 30 minutes. Adjust the sugar based on personal preference.
