Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon water (optional for cornstarch mixture)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- If you want a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch and water in a separate bowl, then stir it into the sauce.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle boil and cook for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, marinate chicken or vegetables in the sauce for 30 minutes. Adjust the sugar based on personal preference.
