Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Stir in the rice, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until lightly toasted.
- Add chicken broth, salt, pepper, paprika, and dried parsley.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked.
- Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese if desired and serve.
Notes
Rinse the rice before cooking to remove excess starch. For added flavor, try adding cayenne pepper or fresh parsley.
