Description

A flavorful side dish inspired by Texas Roadhouse, featuring long-grain white rice cooked in chicken broth with aromatic ingredients and spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the rice, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until lightly toasted.
  4. Add chicken broth, salt, pepper, paprika, and dried parsley.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese if desired and serve.

Notes

Rinse the rice before cooking to remove excess starch. For added flavor, try adding cayenne pepper or fresh parsley.
