Description
A comforting dish featuring juicy chicken breasts topped with a creamy sauce and melted jack cheese, reminiscent of Texas Roadhouse’s classic.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded jack cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Sear the chicken until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes per side.
- Add minced garlic and paprika to the skillet, stirring for about one minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, letting it simmer gently while scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Top each chicken breast with shredded jack cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese bubbles and turns golden.
- Let the chicken rest for five minutes before serving.
Notes
For optimal results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Freshly shredded jack cheese melts better than pre-shredded varieties.
