Description

Delicious turkey burgers that offer a lighter alternative to traditional beef burgers, packed with flavor and perfect for grilling.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 ½ tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • â…“ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined, careful not to overwork the mixture.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 turkey burger patties, about ½ inch thick, and use your thumb to make a slight depression in the center of each patty. Place them on a parchment-lined plate.
  3. Freeze the patties for about 20 minutes, allowing them to firm up.
  4. If grilling, preheat the grill to medium-high, clean the grates, and grease them well with oil. Grill the turkey burgers for a few minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
  5. For skillet cooking, heat canola oil in a nonstick griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until they’re browned and cooked through.
  6. Alternatively, bake the patties at 375 F for 25-30 minutes, then sear briefly on a hot pan for 2 minutes on each side.
  7. Serve the turkey burgers on the buns with your choice of condiments and toppings.

Notes

Use lean ground turkey for a healthier option; avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking to maintain moisture.
