Description
Delicious turkey burgers that are juicy and packed with flavor, perfect for any backyard cookout.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 4 hamburger buns
- Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, avocado, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and freshly ground pepper.
- Add the egg and breadcrumbs, mixing gently until just combined. Be cautious not to overmix.
- Shape the mixture into 4 patties, about ½ inch thick. Use your thumb to create a slight depression in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.
- Place the patties on a plate lined with parchment and freeze for 20 minutes to hold their shape better during cooking.
- Grilling Method: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grease well with oil. Grill turkey burgers for a few minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
- Skillet Method: Heat canola oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Oven Method: Preheat to 375°F and bake for 25-30 minutes, finishing by searing on a hot pan for 2 minutes on each side.
- Serve the patties on hamburger buns, adding your favorite toppings and condiments.
Notes
Do not overmix the ingredients for a tender patty. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the burgers are cooked to 160°F.
