Description

Simple, flavorful turkey burgers that offer a healthier alternative to traditional beef patties, perfect for grilling or frying.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey with garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and egg.
  2. Mix gently until seamlessly combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  3. Shape the turkey mixture into 4 patties, each approximately ½ inch thick.
  4. Create a slight depression in the center of each patty to help retain shape while cooking.
  5. Place the patties on a plate lined with parchment and freeze them for 20 minutes.
  6. For grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high and grease the grates; for skillet cooking, heat oil in a nonstick pan over medium-high heat; alternatively, bake the patties at 375°F for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Cook the patties for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side until they reach 160°F.
  8. Serve the turkey burgers on hamburger buns with your favorite condiments and toppings.

Notes

Consider chilling the patties before cooking to help them hold their shape. Let the burgers rest for a few minutes after cooking for the juices to redistribute.
