An aromatic and flavorful Vietnamese grilled chicken dish marinated with ginger, garlic, and a balance of salty and sweet elements, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs (skinless)
- 2 tablespoons ginger, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
Instructions
- Mix the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, cilantro, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken to the marinade and let it soak for at least 30 minutes, preferably a few hours or overnight.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill it for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and has nice grill marks.
- Serve the grilled chicken in Pho, rice bowls, or salads, and enjoy!
Notes
For juicier chicken, use skinless chicken thighs. Consider brining chicken breasts before marinating to retain moisture.
